Tuning in to Kids®

Promising Potential’s Tracy Shepherd is a facilitator of the Tuning in to Kids® six-session emotionally intelligent parenting program that teaches adults how to use emotion coaching to interact with children aged between 3 and 12 year. The program supports those in parenting or teaching roles to develop an emotional connection that helps children learn about emotions, fosters their ability to understand and regulate emotions. You will learn how to become more aware of your children’s emotions and teach them skills to respond to these in a way that promotes their emotional intelligence and capacity to deal with challenging issues that arise. Children with higher emotional intelligence:

• have greater success with making and keeping friends

• have better concentration at school

• are more able to calm down when upset or angry

• tend to have fewer childhood illnesses
